Map Animation Studio
Animated travel maps for your next story
Give viewers a sense of where a journey begins, how it unfolds, and where it ends. Map Animation is browser-based map animation software with editable scenes and a visual timeline, so you can shape a travel story around your own places and pace.
01
Start with the places that matter
Open Studio and search for your departure city or region. Set an opening view wide enough to explain the trip, then add a closer scene for the first stop. A short itinerary is easier to follow when each scene introduces one place or one leg of the journey.
02
Animate a route at your own pace
Add a route action, choose its endpoints, and select the travel mode that suits the leg. Road and walking routes depend on available routing data; inspect the preview before relying on the path. Adjust the action duration to leave enough time for viewers to read the route and recognize each stop.
03
Give the camera a clear job
Use a wide view to introduce distance, move closer to show a destination, and hold the final frame before the next scene. Refine camera timing on the timeline rather than adding movement everywhere. The camper example shows how a moving route and landscape can carry a travel sequence; it is inspiration, not an automatically applied preset.
04
Export a map clip for your travel video
Choose a video format, preview the complete sequence, and export an MP4. Bring the clip into your usual video editor to combine it with travel footage, captions, music, or narration. Check the current Free and Pro plans for export limits before preparing your final delivery.
Common questions
Can I make a travel map without installing software?
Studio runs in a modern desktop browser with WebGL support. You can edit scenes and preview the route in the browser. Keep the project and its assets available on that device while you work.
Can I use several kinds of travel in one video?
Use separate route actions or scenes for different legs, then adjust their order and duration on the timeline. Review each route individually, especially when the itinerary crosses water or changes from roads to walking paths.
