Terms of service
Product-specific disclosures
These pages describe the audited Studio product, not every feature present in experimental code. Google sign-in and cloud-draft synchronization are implemented. Paddle checkout is currently restricted to Sandbox/Test Mode. Optional providers run only when configured and requested. Operator identity, the working support mailbox, production retention settings and supplier permissions still require confirmation before paid launch.
Operator and scope
Map Animation is planned to be operated by an individually owned business registered in China (个体工商户). Its full registered business name and service address must be inserted before publication. The intended support address is support@map-animation.com; this mailbox is not yet verified as operational. These terms govern the map-animation application, project editor and related services, not separate contracts you enter with third-party providers.
Acceptance and eligibility
Review these terms and the Privacy and Refund policies before using paid services. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to bind that organization. You must have legal capacity to enter the relevant agreement. The service is not designed for children. If you cannot validly accept these terms, do not create a paid account. Any age-specific notices required for the target markets must be settled before launch.
Accounts and security
Provide accurate account information, protect sign-in credentials and tell support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share an account in a way that circumvents the purchased plan. We may require reasonable verification before making account, payment or data changes. You are not required to send us your password or full payment-card number.
Studio, local rendering and optional features
Studio is a visual map-video editor: you arrange scenes and actions, search places, choose available map styles and export video in your browser. Export quality, supported formats and speed depend on your browser and device; an unsupported MP4 encoder may fall back to WebM with a notice. Manual editing does not require an AI-generation request. Retained experimental AI endpoints and optional uploads are not a promise that those features are offered in the released product.
Local work and account synchronization
Projects and rendered exports are kept in browser storage. When signed in and cloud synchronization is enabled, the application may automatically synchronize all eligible local Studio drafts to that account, not only the currently open draft. Drafts bound to another account or marked deleted are excluded by the synchronization logic. A cloud draft contains scene settings and required geographic resources; saving it does not automatically upload a rendered MP4. Keep independent backups before clearing browser data.
Your content and service permissions
You retain rights you already own in uploaded material, prompts, project content and original contributions to outputs. You give us only the permission reasonably necessary to receive, store, process, display and transmit that material to provide the features you request and to operate, secure and support the service. This is not a transfer of ownership or permission to publicly advertise your private projects. Third-party rights may limit ownership or use of parts of an output.
What you own and what third parties license
You retain rights in your own inputs and original contributions. A subscription does not transfer ownership of basemaps, satellite imagery, geographic databases, icons or other third-party materials. Permission to publish a video depends on the sources included in it. Preserve required on-screen credits and any additional notices in descriptions or accompanying files. See Map sources and attribution for source-specific guidance. This is not a blanket grant of unlimited commercial video, television or dataset redistribution rights.
Accuracy and appropriate use
Map boundaries, names, routes and coordinates can be incomplete, simplified, outdated or disputed. Route animations may be illustrative rather than turn-by-turn directions. Preview outputs and independently check important claims. The service is not intended for navigation, surveying, emergency response, military targeting, legal boundary determinations or other safety-critical decisions. No map presentation represents an official position on sovereignty or boundaries.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service for unlawful activity, infringement, impersonation, fraud, harassment or unauthorized disclosure of personal information. Do not attempt to access another user's projects, bypass access controls or billing limits, upload malware, disrupt the service or abuse external providers. You are responsible for securing necessary copyright, privacy, publicity and other permissions for material you submit. Mandatory rights to interoperability, security research or other lawful conduct are not restricted by this clause.
Paddle test checkout and subscription disclosures
The current integration rejects live Paddle configuration and uses sandbox checkout. Test transactions are not real-money purchases. A seven-day, payment-method-required trial and subscription-management flows have been tested in sandbox; this does not mean live subscriptions or paid usage enforcement have launched. Before any live purchase, the checkout must show the actual price, taxes, currency, trial duration, billing interval, first charge date, included allowances and cancellation terms. Paddle acts as merchant of record for transactions it sells, not merely as our payment processor.
Trials, renewal and cancellation
If a live checkout offers a trial with a payment method, the subscription may convert to the displayed recurring paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends. Do not assume a free trial means no automatic renewal. The available Manage billing control opens Paddle's customer portal; you can also use the management link in the receipt. Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal and generally takes effect at the current billing period's end, as shown by Paddle. Cancellation is separate from a refund request; an immediate termination, where applicable, may end access earlier.
Refunds and billing errors
Our proposed additional commercial refund policy accepts requests within three days of the initial subscription purchase, subject to no paid allowance having been consumed. Used allowances and renewal orders are excluded from that commercial policy. See the Refund policy for timing, request details and the important exceptions for applicable consumer law and Paddle's policies. Report duplicate, unauthorized or incorrect charges even if you believe the ordinary eligibility conditions do not apply.
Changes, suspension and termination
We may make reasonable changes for security, legal compliance and service maintenance. Material changes to paid features, prices or terms should be communicated in advance where required, with any applicable cancellation or refund rights. We may restrict activity reasonably necessary to address abuse, a security threat, unlawful content or nonpayment, and provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue where appropriate. A suspension must not be used to defeat mandatory rights or a valid payment dispute.
Availability, liability and mandatory rights
We cannot promise uninterrupted operation or that every provider or device will always be supported. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee that outputs meet every particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer guarantees or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, intentional misconduct or other protected losses. This draft does not impose an arbitrary liability cap, mandatory arbitration or a waiver of legal claims; any such jurisdiction-specific terms require separate review.
Complaints, applicable rules and changes to these terms
Contact support with a clear description of the issue and relevant project or transaction reference, without unnecessary sensitive information. Paddle handles complaints about transactions it processes under its own terms. Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections determine your available remedies; this draft does not require all customers to litigate exclusively in China. Publish the operator details and effective date, and retain prior versions of material purchase terms before launch.
Our supplier obligations and your permitted use
We, as the application operator, must obtain suitable supplier permissions and manage our API keys, service quotas, caching and retention. We do not transfer those integration obligations to you through these terms. You must not bypass access controls, harvest our keys, strip required credits, use the application to bulk extract underlying provider data or resell materials where their licences do not permit it. These restrictions do not take away rights granted independently by an applicable open-data licence.
